In Loving Memory of Father Roberto Antonio Quant

In Memory of Father Roberto

Dear School Families:

As you know, the death of Fr. Roberto Quant has brought much sorrow to our parish and school community, as well as to the greater Catholic community in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City.  The expression of this comes in many forms, one of which is the desire to be present here physically at Sacred Heart parish and school.  To observe this for those outside of our school and to be sensitive to our students and their need to grieve with the support of their family, we will be dismissing school for Thursday, May 9 and Friday, May 10, so that families may participate as fully as they choose.  Classes will resume on Monday, May 13.

The funeral arrangements are as follows.  The body of Fr. Roberto Quant will be received at Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 am on Friday, May 10, where he will remain for visitation until 10:00 am Saturday, May 11, 2013.  There will be a Vigil on Friday evening, May 10, at 7:00 pm at Sacred Heart School gymnasium.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady’s Cathedral on Saturday, May 11, at 11:30 am, with burial following at Resurrection Cemetery.

In the meanwhile we ask that you remember Fr. Roberto and his family in your prayers.  The kindness and concern we have witnessed on your behalf is indeed healing and redemptive.

First Day of School!

Monday, August 13, 2012 at 7:30 A.M. Sacred Heart Catholic School was open for business once again after a long summer break.  Teachers and staff welcomed a record ten-year high enrollment of 189 children back to school.  Many parents and grandparents stayed to participate in the first morning assembly of the school year which included morning prayer, salute to the flags, announcements, calisthenics, and silent reflection time.  The first week has been wonderful, and we look forward to continuing the rest of the school year after our great beginning.  May God continue to bless all that we are and all that we do at Sacred Heart Catholic School!
